Alleluia

Dear Cathedral Family,

Last Sunday was an incredible day of thanksgiving, filled with music and good food and fellowship, truly a day of joyful community. We are always made glad by the presence of the young men of the Mobile Kappa League and their mentors and parents. We are grateful for the gifts of our guest musicians and our cathedral choir, and for the leadership of Elizabeth Gatter. If you would like to see a recording of the day’s worship, it is available on our website.

I am tremendously thankful for the loving servant ministry of all of you who cooked and served and hosted and cleaned up after the day was done. Our youth and their families did a fabulous job of heavy lifting from early to late. The long-standing annual Kappa League Brunch was a tremendous fundraising success this year, surpassing previous years in your generous support of their preparations for college entrance.

This week, as parades begin and the Mardi Gras season ramps up downtown, we turn our attention to the final weeks before Lent begins. On the ministry table in the Chapter House, you will find passes for street-side parking on Last Epiphany, or Joe Cain Day. Look for upcoming information about Lenten formation opportunities for you to consider as you enjoy the days of feasting ahead of the Lenten fast.

This Sunday our youngest children will be focusing on their “Alleluias” before these go away for Lent, and I would encourage you all to come and get your “Alleluias” said, too.

Faithfully,

Beverly+
